Mine product and operations flow map.
What Is it?
A power application that helps users understand flow and operation flow within a mine. Users will also be able to read status notes from the scheduling AI from this dashboard.
What We Did
From user interviews and looking at current old solutions, we designed a power application dashboard that can clearly communicate status of each part of the operations as well as the order in which operations happen. We worked along side stakeholders to flesh out business requirements as well as work along side the development team to push this product into production.
Outcome
Worked with a development team to flesh out the designs based on user interviews and stakeholder feedback. Product was launched and is under going continuous improvement.
The Process
- Interviewed clients to gather requirements and understand how mine operators were not able to correlate the steps that a product steps through versus the product status’ that they were seeing.
- Mapped out an ideal usage flow and decision diagram for an operator when they want to understand the status of products or where in the process it’s in.
- Designed, iterated, and prototyped a low fi mockup to test with stakeholders and a selected user group to test for acceptance and usability.
- Produced high fi mockups and development assets for the development team.
The Design
The key element to this app is the subway style map of how the products move through the system. In this view, operators are able to see key metrics at each site and is also able to review messages and alerts that have popped up. Upon clicking on each of the sites, you can see the path that the products go through. The alerts and details will also be filtered down to those relevant in the highlighted path.
